The Book
The book "From the Death of One Star" is one sincere homage to the Mayan, as a mestizo Honduran artist, It’s a deep recognition to the impeccable historical contribution and legacy: Artistic, Cosmological, Mathematic, Geometric, and Spiritual. The Mayan praxis, points to the Sun as the creator of life and death, The title is rooted in this impeccable fact.
The book, finally emerges as part of the process. As a necessity, that the illustration process demands, because the images are, the most iconic from the impeccable’s Mayas. They are finely woven with the word. and image “Imagen y Palabra” That appealing for one sincere aesthetic value. It raises a narrative, rooted in the idea of being decolonized, by the praxis itself. For a greater artistic appreciation of the subject, in this case the Artistic Mayan Praxis.
The book contains five essays, which address different fundamental aspects that suggest a decolonized artistic appreciation through the pre-Columbian Mayan images that illustrate the book. The narrative sincerely appeals to live up to the impeccable Mayan work, from the angular perspective of the artist. A first edition in Spanish will be out in the end of this year 2023 and the second edition hopefully will be next in English.
