Primavera del Inmigrante - The Immigrants’ Spring 2006

This is a two part video documentary of the historic immigrant rights marches in Chicago, Illinois in the spring of 2006 (March 10th and May 1st). The two parts can stand alone or be viewed together to capture the events and the emotions of the communities and individuals who made their voices heard on a massive scale for the first time. Both parts consist of interviews with people marching in the protests, excerpts of the speeches given by public officials, religious leaders and representatives of immigrant organizations as well as ample footage of the hundreds of thousands of participants. The second part (May 1st) also includes a brief recap of the events of March 10th. Run time: March 10th: 33 minutes; May 1st: 38 minutes.
